New collaboration to develop national workplace health and safety standard announced

The Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC), in collaboration with the Bureau de normalisation de Québec and the Canadian Standards Association, have begun work on the development of a National Standard of Canada designed to protect and improve employee mental health and well-being. Building upon successes at the provincial level in Quebec, the new standard will aim to mitigate the long-term costs and risks associated with psychological health and safety in the work environment across Canada. Work on this standard is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
