The October issue of ISO Focus entitled "Consumers" includes numerous articles written by prominent Canadian consumer representatives. "Consumers Count – Making a Difference in Standards" by Norma McCormick, Chair of ISO/COPOLCO, explores the role of standards in building consumer confidence. Dr. Michael Jenkin, Director General of the Office of Consumer Affairs (Canada) contributes an article entitled "Consumer Policy at the OECD – Empowering and Protecting Consumers Worldwide". Also included in this issue are pieces by Canadians: Sondra Bruni, Chair of Canada’s Advisory Committee to ISO/COPOLCO, Dr. Elizabeth Nielsen of the Canadian Advisory Committee to ISO/TC 229 and Kevin Boehmer of the Canadian Standards Association.
