Opportunity to volunteer as a technical assessor

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is currently recruiting volunteer Technical Assessors with the following areas of expertise:

Energy Gas appliance and fittings Mechanical Fasteners Metal Structures Engines and Vehicle Components e.g. Braking Systems Calibration and Metrology Construction Frames Windows and Doors Roofing Material Concrete Welding Insulating materials Plumbing Products Roof Coverings Vapor Barriers Water Proofing Membranes Wall coverings Fasteners and Hardware

Textiles Occupational Health and Safety Protective Clothing Buoyancy Devices Fire Safety Clothing Fabrics for Seats and Carpets Safety Toys Furniture Sports Equipment Packaging Resistance to children Electrical Product Safety Equipment Calibration and Metrology

All accepted assessors will receive advance training in the relevant SCC procedures. Upon completion, all successful applicants will receive an official SCC identification card. Assessors will be reimbursed for their travel and expenses when conducting an assessment visit.

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) accredits and recognizes the competence of testing laboratory facilities through its Labs Accreditation Program CAN-P-4E (ISO/IEC 17025:2005).
