ISO updates standard for safe contact lenses

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has revised its standard for making contact lenses and associated care products safe to use according to the latest industry developments. The standard (ISO 14534:2011), entitled Ophthalmic optics - Contact lenses and contact lens care products - Fundamental requirements, will contribute to harmonizing requirements for safe contact lenses, lens care products and accessories around the world and help improve global trade of these products. Product certification bodies may also purchase ISO 14534:2011 directly from the Standards Store.
