Asset Publisher FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2010-03-23 Three members of SCC governing Council reappointedOttawa, Ontario (March 23, 2010) – The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is pleased to announce the reappointments, by the Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the SCC, of three SCC governing Council members. The reappointment of Ms. Hélène Lefebvre for a four year term was finalized in January 2010. Mr. David Fardy and Mr. James G. Frank were both reappointed in March 2010 for three and four year terms, respectively. Initially appointed in 2006, Ms. Lefebvre is a professional engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. She is currently working as an engineering specialist with Petro-Canada. Mr. Fardy was first appointed to the SCC in 2005. He is currently the General Manager of Protrans Personnel Services Inc. of Dieppe, New Brunswick, a position he has held since 2000. Mr. Frank’s initial appointment to the SCC was in 2006. He is currently on the Investment Advisory Committee of the Community Foundation of Ottawa, and on the Non-Public Property Investment Committee of the Canadian Forces Personnel Support Agency of the Department of National Defence. The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is a Crown Corporation with the mandate to promote the efficient and effective use of standardization. Located in Ottawa, the SCC is a portfolio of Industry Canada with a 15 member governing Council and approximately 90 staff. The SCC coordinates the work of the National Standards System, and offers a range of standardization-related programs and services that are intended to enhance the social and economic well-being of Canadians.
