Asset Publisher FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2011-10-06 SCC to host panel discussion on the safety of consumer electrical productsOttawa, Ontario (October XX, 2011) – The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is pleased to announce that on October 14th 2011, as part of the 42nd annual World Standards Day celebration, it will be hosting a panel debate on how to improve the safety of consumer electrical products for today’s global marketplace. The event, which will also be broadcast live online, will be accompanied by a free networking breakfast to which all are invited. The event will take place on Friday, October 14, 2011, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., in Room 207/208 of the Ottawa Convention Centre, 55 Colonel By Drive. The panel discussion and free networking breakfast will be of interest to a wide range of participants including standards developers, government regulators, industry stakeholders, retailers, manufacturers, policy makers, trade experts, certification bodies, and consumers.
