Q: What is the value of using an SCC-accredited organization for product and service certification?

A:

Accreditation is a valuable way for product and service certification bodies to demonstrate to potential clients that they are not only capable of doing the work for which they are accredited, but also of showing their commitment and dedication to quality and safety. Through the accreditation process, the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) verifies that an organization has the people, expertise, equipment and management system to do the job.

The SCC's accreditation process is based on internationally recognized criteria, providing clients in Canada and around the world, with confidence in the work of the bodies that are accredited.

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) accredits product, process and service certification bodies in a variety of fields. Examples include organizations involved with: organic foods, electrical products, fire and personal safety equipment, construction materials, fuel-burning equipment and forestry products.
