General

The title and scope of this Draft Technical Report do not make it clear that, as it is currently drafted, it is only generally applicable to the composition of texts in Japanese and other Asian languages that use monospaced character fonts.

 

Accept in principle. The scope is amended to clarify the “complex composition” which is dealt with in this Technical Report.

General

If the scope were to be widened to include texts using the latin alphabet and similar orthographies, a number of clauses(e.g. 4.5.2, 4.9, 4.10.1) would require extensive re-drafting to make them more generally applicable, which would necessitate a re-ballot of a new Draft.
