Presentation of the proposal - to be completed by the proposer Guidelines for proposing and justifying a new work item are given in ISO Guide 26.

TM4PL Benchmark  (Topic Maps for Practice Learning) Benchmark

Scope: This proposed technical report specifies the TM4PL benchmark to assess qualitatively and quantitatively TMengine according to TMDM, TMQL, and TMCL

Purpose and justification
The purposes of the  TM4PL (Topic Maps for Practice Learning) Benchmark are:

  • To provide a uniform TM framework for data and workload specification to assess topic maps engines according to some quality and quantity performance metrics.

  • To encourage the usage of benchmark to evaluate topic maps-based engines, and

  • To improve the quality assessment of topic maps technology and standardization.

Quality and Quantity assessments are two key issues to improve the usage of  topic maps in industrial and end-user communities. It will be also a way to motivate people to improve toward that goal.
