Report of SC34/WG2

1. ISO/IEC 9541, Font information interchange

In the WG2 meeting in May 2006, we established the project for ISO/IEC 9541-1/Amd.4 for harmonization with ISO/IEC 9541-4 (ISO/IEC 14496-22) and ISO/IEC 9541-2/Amd.2, and WG2 requested SC34 secretariat to clarify how to deal with the dual-numbered publication of 9541-4 and 14496-22.

In the last WG2 meeting in Dec. 2006, we drafted PDAM texts of ISO/IEC 9541-1/Amd.4 and ISO/IEC 9541-2/Amd.2 without referring to ISO/IEC 9541-4, and put it on hold until getting some information of dual-numbered publication from JTC1. We had no information, however, from JTC1 and SC29 finalized the text of 14496-22 for publication.

WG2 plans to submit PDAM texts for circulation after some discussion and modification during the Oslo meeting.

2. ISO/IEC 24754, Minimum requirements for specifying document rendering systems

In the last WG2 meeting in Boston, we drafted FCD text of ISO/IEC 24754 including the comments on the CD. After some discussions taken by the Editor and Secretariat, the FCD text was circulated for ballot. The FCD ballot will be closed in 22 May 2007.

Therefore we have basically nothing to be discussed on this topic in the Oslo meeting. However, a project editor proposed to add an annex to ISO/IEC 24754 in the Seoul meeting and the annex has not yet been enough discussed. Therefore the WG2 agenda included an item of this topic.
