Resolution 4: Approval of Program of Work, Target Dates and Project Editor Assignments

JTC 1/SC 34 directs the Secretariat to revise the Program of Work, Target Dates and Project Editor Assignments and post it as SC 34 842. SC34 urges its WGs and NBs to keep the Secretariat informed of changes to the information in this document.

Resolution 5: SC34 Liaison to JTC 1/SWG Directives

JTC 1/SC 34 appoints Mr. Keld Simonsen and Mr. Patrick Dudrsau as the Liaison Representatives from SC34 to JTC 1/SWG Directives.

()

Resolution 6: Status of SC34 Chairman

JTC 1/SC 34 was organized in November 1998 with Dr. James Mason as acting chairman. Dr. Mason was confirmed as chairman at the SC34 Plenary in Granada, Spain, in April 1999 (SC34 N62). As no other candidates were put forth at the ends of three years or six years (i.e., in 2002 and 2005), by default the SC accepted the extension of the term of the chairman, and Dr. Mason remains in that position. The present three-year term of the chairman would thus end in 2008. Accordingly, SC34 accepts Dr. Mason as its current chairman, at least through the end of 2007.

(Note: Dr. Mason has indicated that, in view of the upcoming change of the SC34 Secretariat, he does not intend to stand for another term.)

()

Resolution 7: Application of XML Guild for Category A Liaison with SC34

JSC 34 endorses 854, a request for Category A Liaison, from the XML Guild and recommends that JTC1 accept the liaison.

()

SC 34 approves the following tentative meeting schedule:

Date Location Group
