Asset Publisher 2010-03-08 Proposal for a new field of technical activity on Safety of AttractionsThe Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking feedback on the development of a new field of technical activity on Safety of Attractions submitted by the Russian Federation (GOST R) to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The purpose of Safety of Attractions would be to develop standards on the stages of design, manufacture and operation which would take into account the biomechanical risks of influence of the attractions in connection with the influence of acceleration and psychophysiological loadings on an individual. The development of a unified generalized approach will increase the attractions safety level and in the process eliminate economic barriers to trade; facilitate and promote new technological advancements in this area; decrease the risk of accidents and promote safety of individuals; address the environmental impacts of attractions; and, increase the industry of attractions sustainability.
