Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances (CSC/IEC/TC 61) [campaign closed]

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking interested parties to participate on the Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances  (CSC/IEC/TC 61) and represent the following membership categories: consumers, industry, regulators and manufacturers.

The scope of CSC/IEC/TC 61 is to:
To prepare safety requirements for electrical appliances primarily for household purposes, but also for other equipment and appliances in similar fields where there is no other IEC Technical Committee in existence.

What is Expected?

    * Active participation, commitment and a willingness to undertake committee work and prepare required reports and meeting documents.
    * Ability and willingness to meet and respect deadlines and follow SCC procedures, directives and terms of reference.
    * Ability to travel and attend meetings nationally and internationally.
    * Commitment to participate in committee work electronically and in-person.
    * Have the time, resources, and financial support to actively participate on committees.
    * Represent stakeholder groups and views. Consult with your constituency and bring their concerns to the table.
    * Ability to work within a group environment.
    * Possess the knowledge related to the committee or group.

Individuals are invited to submit their Curriculum Vitae (CV) along with a statement outlining their interest and ability to contribute to the work of the "CSC/IEC/TC 61" to the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) by May 15, 2004.
