Opportunity to participate on a committee developing ISO/IEC standards on Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources - Common international terminology

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking interested stakeholders representing government, industry, regulators and consumers to participate on its Canadian committee for the development of an international standard on Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.

Improving the energy efficiency and use of renewable sources implies the involvement of stakeholders from numerous sectors such as energy, building, industry, transport, agriculture, equipment and public authorities. The definition of common terminology in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources is a prerequisite to enable the different actors to act together and develop shared tools which will further the dialogue between all the stakeholders.

Scope of work

The standard will specify the terms and definitions used in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. It will provide support for:

  • Metrics, calculations and assessment methods;
  • Methodologies and best practices needed by policy makers, standardization technical committees working on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources

Deadline for submission

Interested parties should submit their Curriculum Vitae along with a statement outlining their ability to contribute to the work of the committee September 1, 2009.
