Opportunity to participate on committee developing standards for Fire Hazard Testing (CSC/IEC/TC 89)

OTTAWA —The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking interested parties representing industry, regulators and consumers to participate in its Canadian sub-committee on Fire Hazard Testing (CSC/IEC/TC 89).

Scope of CSC/IEC/TC 89

The sub-committee reviews and develops international standards, technical specifications and technical reports in the areas of fire hazard assessment, safety engineering and terminology related to electrotechnical products as well as guidance and test methods for assessing fire hazards of electrotechnical equipment, their parts (including components) and electrical insulating materials.

The Standards Council of Canada is seeking technical experts that have a stake in the implementation and would like to participate in the review and drafting of related standards.

Deadline for submission

Interested parties should submit their Curriculum Vitae along with a statement outlining their interests and ability to contribute to the work of CSC/IEC/TC 89 by July 19, 2007.
