SC 37 Biometrics [campaign closed]

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking interested parties to participate on a new ISO/IEC/Joint Technical Committee 1 (JTC1) Subcommittee, entitled "SC 37 Biometrics". The scope of SC 37 is standardization of generic biometric technologies to support interoperability and data interchange between applications and systems. Generic biometric standards include: common file formats; application programming interfaces; biometric templates; template protection techniques and related application/implementation profiles as well as methodologies for conformity assessment.

There is strong interest internationally in the subject area of "Biometrics" and Canada will be involved as a "P" (Participating) member of JTC1/SC 37. This committee will be responsible for active participation in reviewing documents, attending meetings and cooperating with the chair of the committee in providing Standards Council of Canada (SCC), the national member body at ISO/IEC/JTC1 with timely voting responses.

Individuals are invited to submit their Curriculum Vitae (CV) along with a statement outlining your interests and ability to contribute to the work of SC 37 "Biometrics". Please submit your information and CV to the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) Volunteer Program by September 6, 2002 by e-mail at [email protected] .

The Standards Council of Canada has been advised that the inaugural international meeting of JTC1/SC 37 committee will take place December 11-13, 2002 in Orlando, Florida.
