Asset Publisher 2009-05-01 Opportunity to participate on a committee developing standards on fraud countermeasures and controls (CAC/ISO/PC247)The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking interested stakeholders representing industry, regulators and consumers to participate on its Canadian committee for the development of an international standard on Fraud Countermeasures and Controls. The proposal was developed and submitted by the North American Security Products Organization (NASPO), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The document addresses standardization in the field of detection, prevention and control of identity, financial, product and other forms of social and economic fraud. Scope of work The committee will develop an international standard for the detection, prevention, and control of social and economic fraud, including identity, financial, and product fraud. It aims to bring together standards developers, criminologists, and experts in the fields of anti-fraud countermeasures and controls to form a Project Committee that will initiate, evaluate, and support the standards being developed in this field. Standards developed by the proposed committee would provide a framework of support for public and private initiatives in diminishing the effects of fraud.
