Opportunity to participate on a committee developing standards for road-traffic safety management systems

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking interested parties representing industry, regulators and consumers to participate on its Canadian committee on the development of a new international standard for road traffic safety management systems.

Scope of work

The new work item would outline the principles of road traffic safety, as well as requirements and guidelines for the implementation of a road traffic safety management system, as well as

  • Establish the requirements for a road traffic safety management system;
  • Provide guidance for implementing road traffic safety objectives;
  • Introduce the concept of Traffic Safety Performance Indicators;
  • and address the needs of all stakeholders, including infrastructure experts, authorities, consumers, transportation service providers, governments, and vehicle manufacturers, among others.

Deadline for submission

Interested parties should submit their Curriculum Vitae along with a statement outlining their ability to contribute to the work of the commitee by March 30, 2008.
