Call for interest: Opportunity to participate in the development of standards on light metals and their alloys

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking interested individuals to represent consumer, regulatory and manufacturing interests as participants on the Canadian advisory committee to the international standards development committee on light metals and their alloys (CAC/ISO/TC 79).

Scope of the committee:

Standardization in the field of aluminum, magnesium, titanium and their alloys

Benefits of participation:

  • Membership in the Canadian committee
  • Participation in sub-committees
  • Ability to submit own initiatives to SCC for consideration
  • Attendance at select events and committee meetings

What is expected?

  • Possess the technical knowledge and or experience related to the subject matter
  • Active participation, commitment and a willingness to undertake committee work and prepare required reports and meeting documents in an electronic environment
  • Ability and willingness to meet and respect deadlines and follow SCC procedures, directives and committee terms of reference
  • Ability to travel and attend meetings internationally may be required
  • Represent stakeholder groups and views, consult with your constituency and bring their concerns to the table
