Exhibition Terminology (ISO Work Item)

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking interested stakeholders to participate and comment on a work item—proposed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)—to develop an international standard that addresses “Exhibition Terminology”.  Contributors may include exhibition organizers, exhibition suppliers/service providers/contractors, exhibitors and attendees.

The purpose of the proposed international standard is to establish a standardized set of terminology to be commonly used and adopted by the exhibition industry. This will assist with transactions and facilitate the growth of the exhibition industry worldwide.

The Standards Council of Canada is looking for technical experts from various Canadian companies and individuals with a stake in the implementation of the proposed standard to participate.

What is Expected?

    * Active participation, commitment and a willingness to undertake committee work and prepare required reports and meeting documents.
    * Ability and willingness to meet and respect deadlines and follow SCC procedures, directives and terms of reference.
    * Ability to travel and attend meetings nationally and internationally.
    * Commitment to participate in committee work electronically and in-person.
    * Time, resources, and financial support to actively participate on committees.
    * Represent stakeholder groups and views. Consult with constituency and bring their concerns to the table.
    * Ability to work within a group environment.
    * Possess knowledge related to the committee or group.
