ISO and IAF release details of an 18-month ISO 14001:2004 transition plan

Organizations implementing environmental management systems (EMS) that are certified as conforming to the original 1996 version of the ISO 14001 standard have until May 15, 2006 to make the transition to the revised version of the standard (ISO 14001:2004). This transition plan is for implementation by certification bodies (that are accredited by an IAF member) when they carry out ISO 14001 audits of their client's EMS.
