Program Notice: Certification bodies required to transition to new sustainable forestry standard

Certification bodies accredited to the Standard Council of Canada’s Sustainable Forestry program must transition to a new chain of custody standard for forest-based products (PEFC ST 2002:2010) by November 25, 2012. The new chain of custody standard, which was developed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), informs consumers of materials originating from PEFC-certified, sustainably managed forests or recycled material.
