CANENA

Founded in 1992, the goal of the Council for Harmonization of Electrotechnical Standards of the Nations of the Americas (CANENA) is to foster the harmonization of electrotechnical product standards, conformity assessment test requirements, and electrical codes between all of the democracies of the Western Hemisphere. CANENA works in cooperation with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the IEC national committees in the countries that provide members to CANENA, including the Canadian National Committee to the IEC (CNC/IEC). The Standards Council of Canada supports the work of CNC/IEC. A number of stakeholders in the National Standards System, including the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and the Electro-Federation of Canada (EFC) are members of CANENA.
