Clarify the environment this international standard can apply, which may consist of user, implementer and software agent. Within the environment, the document formats in clause 4.1.2 should be clarified.

(2) 1. Scope
The scope should show that rendering of moving image and audio is outside the scope of this international standard.

(3) 3. Definitions
Add the definitions of paged media and scrolled media.

2. Editorial

(1) 4. Features of a document rendering system
The 1st para in clause 4 should be moved to clause 1, replacing "this standard" with "this international standard".

The features listed in clause 4 should be classified into media independent rendering, scrolled media rendering and paged media rendering.

(2) 4.1.11 Font substitution
"Support for font substitution mechanism based on ISO/IEC 9541-1:1991, Information technology -- Font information interchange, is described."
should be
"Support for font substitution mechanism, e.g. font substitution based on ISO/IEC 9541-1, is described."

(3) Embedding of non-standard characters and glyphs
"Support for the embedding of glyphs registered via ISO/IEC 10036, Font-related Identifier, is described."
should be
"Support for the embedding of non-standard characters and glyphs, e.g. glyphs registered by ISO/IEC 10036, is described."

(4) 4.2 Description of pagination and rendering of page layout
Clarify whether the page features specified in clause 4.2 can be applied to non-paged media or not.

(5) 4. Annex A
Add an Annex A which shows examples of expressing rendering systems in accordance with this international standard.
