McMahon Dedicated Service Award: 2010

Mr. Darryl Kingston

Darryl has been with the Standards Council of Canada since May 1998. As Senior Program Officer at the SCC, he is responsible for providing the Secretariat to the Standards Council’s Consumer and Public Interest Advisory Committee as well as the Canadian Advisory Committee to ISO/COPOLCO, Canada’s mirror committee to ISO’s Committee on Consumer Policy. Darryl has also served in similar roles for the SCC’s Advisory Committee on Standards (ACS) and the Task Group on Standards Development Organizations (TGSDO). He is responsible for managing Canadian held ISO Technical Committee and Subcommittee Secretariats, as well as assisting and guiding Canadian TC Officers in the appointment and discharge of their duties. Darryl is responsible for the SCC-Health Canada Consumer Product Safety MoU, the Canadian National Mirror Committee for ISO 26000 on Social Responsibility and is a certified trainer and ISO 9000 Lead Auditor who performs assessments for the SDO Accreditation Program while managing the National Standards of Canada Approval Program. Darryl is married and has two children.
