Hugh Krentz

Hugh Krentz is a consultant to the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC). A graduate in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba, he enjoyed a distinguished career as President of the CISC, before stepping down in 2001. He is also the former Chairman and CEO of the Canadian Steel Construction Council, and former Executive Director of the Steel Structures Education Foundation. He has served on the Standards Council since 1977. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering, a Member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and has received numerous awards recognizing his contributions to structural engineering and standards development. He is active on various committees of ISO, CSA and ASTM.
