Q: Why would I seek accreditation under the joint Medical Laboratories program? Why isn't recognition by one of the partners enough?

A: Laboratories that receive accreditation as part of the SCC/BNQ/OMA Medical Laboratories program undergo a single assessment process in order to achieve recognition by all of the partner organizations. This can save laboratories time, money and administrative burden.

As a national accreditation body, SCC maintains strong linkages with numerous international laboratory accreditation organizations, and ensures that its programs are based on internationally recognized requirements.  SCC regularly undergoes peer assessment reviews by other national bodies to demonstrate its own conformance to international requirements (ISO/IEC 17011).
